Oh my God, no way!

After telling my friend about this blogging assessment and my chosen media platform, he told me a pretty remarkable story about his experience with ‘Last.fm,’ and so I thought I’d share it with all of you! Just goes to show how this ‘social music revolution’ further supports Marshall McLuhan’s ‘The Medium is the Message’ construction (1964).

“I’d been on last.fm for a while so I was relatively familiar with the ‘mutual bands’ feature and had met a lot of people who had musicians in common with me, but my favourite band, a somewhat unheard of one, ‘Regular John,’ was one I’d found no one had listed on their pages. UNTIL I was going through my mates friends, and found a girl with ‘Regular John’ in her library, I messaged her saying how brilliant I thought they were and how glad I was that someone else knew of them. She replied back a few days later informing she was dating the lead guitarist and offered to set up a meet …I was just… Oh my God, no way! Man I don’t even have words for how I felt after I read that but bloody hell was I ecstatic. Meeting them was one of the best days of my life to date. And yeah, basically, I owe it all to Last.fm.”
